NEWTON - Joyce E. Heine, 91, died Dec. 3, 2008. She was born March 12, 1917, the daughter of Friend E. and Emma M. Barkow Hoover.On Aug. 15, 1941, she married Lawrence E. Heine. He died Oct. 5, 2000. Survivors include: daughter, Karen and Howard Lacher; son, Duane; step-granddaughters, Cassandra and Erika Lacher; brother-in-law, Alan Heine; sisters-in-law; Dorothy Hoover, Dorothy Matlack and Frances Lawrey; eight nieces; and five nephews.Graveside service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Visitation 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Peterson Funeral Home, Newton, with the family receiving friends 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials to First United Methodist Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association or Helping Hands in care of the funeral home.
