Opal V. Meier
ROZEL - Opal V. Meier, 87,
died Saturday (Feb. 25, 2006) at Newton Medical Center. She was born May 14,
1918, to Frank and Effie I. Riggs Price in Alexander. She married S. Emil Meier
July 10, 1935, in Scott City. He preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1994. A
longtime resident of rural Rozel, living a short time in LaCrosse and Newton,
she was a homemaker. She belonged to Hope Lutheran Church and Hope Lutheran
Ladies Aid, both of Rush Center and Lincoln Banner EHU, and she was a past
project leader for Lincoln Livewires 4-H Club of Rozel.
Survivors include: a son, Ken
Meier of LaCrosse; a daughter, Rhonda Tillberg of Newton; a sister, Ola Wolter
of LaCrosse; a sister-in-law, Mabel Price of Nekoma; 10 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in
death by: a daughter, Marianne Meyer; two sons, Clarence and Errol; seven
brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be until 9
p.m. today with family greeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Morell Funeral Home
in Larned.
Funeral service will be 10:30
a.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Rush Center with the Rev. Maurice
Schaus officiating.
Burial will be in Hope
Lutheran Cemetery.
