Bill M. Myers, 65, of Newton, died Sunday (Aug. 13, 2000) at Columbia Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 1, 1934, in Independence to V. Dale and Alma G. (Moore) Myers. He married Carol Henshaw April 14, 1954, in Winfield. She survives of Newton.

He was a sales manager for Wonder Bread and Hiland Dairy, both of Wichita. He was a member of First Christian Church, Elks Lodge, Sons of American Legion and past member of VFW and Eagles Lodge.

He enjoyed fishing, music and telling jokes.

Other survivors include: two sons, Rick Myers of Newton and Bill A. Myers of Hutchinson; one daughter, Teresa Bachman of Newton; one brother, Jack Myers of Wichita; one sister, Janice Housman of Hartington, Neb.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bud Myers.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Newton with the Rev. Jerry Conner from River Community Church in Wichita officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Memorials have been established with Kansas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis and Kansas Elks Training Center Handicap in care of the funeral home.
