Virgil E. Blosser
HESSTON -- Virgil E. Blosser, 78, died
Saturday (July 16, 2005) at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical
Center in Wichita. He was born Dec. 5, 1926, to Rudolph and Katherine
(King) Blosser in Hesston. They preceded him in death. He married
Winona Becker June 3, 1955, in Hutchinson. She survives of the home.
He grew up in Hesston and attended Hesston schools. Virgil attended
Hesston inter-Mennonite Church in Hesston and Abundant Life Church in
Hutchinson. He farmed most of his life northeast of Hesston and
greatly enjoyed the mechanical challenges of farming. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and motorcycles. Virgil also collected rocks and did
rock polishing. He greatly enjoyed sharing Christ's love through his
music. He was a member of the Blosser Gospel Trio along with his wife
and brother Vernon. He and his wife recorded two gospel albums.
Virgil greatly looked forward to spending time with his family and
also looked forward to a bowl of his favorite ice cream.
Other survivors include: sons, Michael
Blosser and wife Miriam of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Melanie
Blosser of Hesston; a sister, Blanche Miller of Kalona, Iowa; several
nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Blosser of Houston
and Alma Blosser of rural Hesston.
He also was preceded in death by: three
brothers, Byron Blosser, Melvin Blosser and Vernon Blosser; and a
sister, Thelma Loucks.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m. To 9 p.
m. Tuesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p. m. At
Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p. m.
Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Miller
officiating.
Private burial will be in Eastlawn
Cemetery in rural Hesston.
Memorials have been established with
South East Asian Missions in care of the funeral home.
