Arrested For Rape

One man, Shane Michael Batterman, 32, of Newton was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 for rape in Newton.
The alleged incident happened at the victim?s residence. Batterman allegedly forced his way into the house and made the victim have sex with him, Newton Police Chief Eric Murphy said.
The victim and Batterman know each other. The accuser has not been publicly identified.
