Lemuel Strubhar, 20, of Hesston, was riding a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Old Highway 81 about 5:15 p.m. A 1997 Buick driven by Titus Jost, 91, of North Newton, was northbound on Anderson when he failed to yield to Strubhar, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Strubhar’s motorcycle struck the car in the driver’s side.  Strubhar was taken to Newton Medical Center, where he died. He was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported. Lemuel Timothy Strubhar, 20, died Tuesday (Feb. 17, 2009) due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born Jan. 6, 1989, in Silverton, Ore., to John A. and Becky (Novak) Strubhar. They survive of Hesston.  He was employed with King Enterprise Inc. in McPherson, and he loved to hunt. Survivors include his promised one, Ashley Bottiger of Whitewater; grandparents, Raymond “Ray” and Charlene Novak of Hesston; brother, Bradley Strubhar of Hesston; sisters, Deanna Shamburg of Hesston and Tonya Strubhar and fiance, Jeff Russell, of Wichita; nieces, Haley Shamburg and Elizabeth Shamburg; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Timothy and Anne Strubhar. Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 21) at Miller Funeral Home in Hesston. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Fellowship of Kingdom Life Ministries in Hesston, with Pastor Scott Miller officiating.  Burial will be at Hesston Cemetery.
