Verla R Hauck

Verla R. Hauck, died on Sunday (June 6, 2010) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She was born on June 14, 1924, in Newton to Vern and Lorraine Hauck.

Verla always had a special place in her heart for little children. She had a deep love and concern for all children.
Verla was a longtime resident of the Kansas Christian Home and was known for her good nature and the practical jokes she played on the home’s staff and friends. She loved Kitty Cats and animals. Her room was filled with many animals, particularly Kitty Cats. She was very active in the home and seldom missed activities. Verla had lived in Kansas Christian Home since 1993.

She is survived by an aunt, Virdean Lucas of Lawrence; nephew, Tim Rardin of Sheridan, Wyo.; niece, Celia Lyon Dannison of Prescott, Ariz.; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, M. Lorraine Jackson; father, Vern S. Hauck; stepfather, Fred Jackson; and sister, Florence Rardin.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A memorial service will be at Kansas Christian Home at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be prior to the service at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kansas Christian Home in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
