Paula P (Clark) Wickham

Paula P. Wickham, 76, passed away on Thursday (May 27, 2010) at her residence in Enterprise. She was born on Oct. 7, 1933, in Abilene to William G. and Pearl (Price) Clark. Her childhood was spent in Abilene, where she attended local schools, graduating with the class of 1951.

She was united in marriage to Leland Wickham on Aug. 6, 1951, in Topeka. To this union was born a daughter, Debbie, and a son, Scott. The family lived in Abilene, Medicine Lodge, Conway and Windom prior to settling in Whitewater in 1970. Paula worked as a retail clerk and as a cook, retiring from the Marriott Corp. in 1992. She also was a cashier and deli manager for Bethel College in North Newton. She then moved to Enterprise in 1996. Paula enjoyed reading, cooking, researching genealogy, her friends, family and, especially, visits from her grandchildren. She attended New Trail Fellowship Cowboy Church until her health began to fail.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie and husband Terry Thompson of Enterprise; her son, Scott of Abilene; a brother, Clayton Clark of Abilene; three grandchildren; and her nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; and one great-grandson.

The family has chosen cremation. Graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Brainerd Cemetery in rural Whitewater, with Pastor Stan Norman officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for New Trail Fellowship Cowboy Church in Abilene, in care of Lamb Funeral Home, P.O. Box 358, Whitewater, KS 67154.
