The Newton Kansan

Newton Kansan
29 October, 1920

Jennie H. Anderson was born in Warren, Lee County, Iowa, October 5, 1874.
She came with her parents to Newton in 1879 and lived in this city from that time on. She was fourty-six years and 18 days old at the time of her death.
On October 5, 1896 she was married to Dr. C. E. Johnson of this city and she is survived by their four children, Flora, Arthur, Mrs. N. Boyer and Lewis, all of this city. She united with the Baptist church at the age of twelve years, but after her marriage she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church of wich she was a faithful member.
Failing health took her to Colorado in August, and later to Pasadena, California where she planned to spend the winter and it was there on October 23rd, 1920 that she passed away living only a few hours after being stricken while asleep. Death came in the Pasadena hospital whence she had been hurriedly taken, her daughter Flora who is a nurse, and Lewis her youngest son were with her at the time death came.
The greatest heritage of her sunny brave life, is her four fine children all of whom give promise of a fine and useful manhood and womanhood.
Others who mourn her loss are her sisters, Mrs. Will May of this City and Mrs. Carrie M. Strader of Oakland, California and three brothers, G. L. Anderson of San Francisco, L. B. Anderson of Denver and Joy D. Amderson of this City, and their families. L. B. Anderson of Denver was the only one of the out of town relatives who could come for the funeral, which was held Friday afternoon, October, 29th at three o'clock at the Duff funeral parlors. Rev. A.
