Obituary

Patricia A. Block, 69, died Aug. 29, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on June 20, 1941, in Salina to James and Emma (Anderson) Bagley. On Dec. 11, 1987, she married Arnie Block in Newton, and he survives of the home. Patricia worked as a cook in various nursing homes. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband and especially enjoyed bow hunting. Patricia enjoyed living in the country and the company of her animals. Her family was very important to her, and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her loving family and many friends. She is survived by her husband, Arnie Block of the home; two sons, Jack Newingham of Newton and Larry Newingham of Salina; one daughter, Michelle Dunham of St. Charles, Mo.; one brother, Virgil Bagley of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Denetta Tillberg of Salina; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Bagley and Billy Ray Bagley; and two sisters, Nellie Rindhal and Dorothy Richtor. A service of celebration and remembrance of Patricia’s life will be at 10 a.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, with the Rev. Nancy Crowl presiding. Memorials may be left with the American Cancer Society in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
