Bloomer, Donald

The Newton Kansan

Donald James Bloomer passed away on Friday (Sept. 3, 2010) in Peabody.

He was born on Nov. 27, 1937, in Peabody to Henry and Caroline (Peterson) Bloomer. He married Parlee Lillian (Martin) Bloomer in 1955, at Newton Congregational Church, and she preceded him in death in May. He worked as a welder for Hesston Manufacturing.

He is survived by his daughters, Marcia and Bruce Sebree of Oakley, Ill., Janet and Randy Rosine of Duncan, Okla., and Donna and Steve Glover of Peabody; brothers, John Bloomer of Peabody and Leonard Bloomer of Topeka; sisters, Mary Russell of Newton, April Deichen of Wichita, Carol Piland of Peabody, Dorothy Brown of Fort Scott, Shirley Solomon of Peabody, Sharon Smith of Newton and Karen Voth of Moundridge; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. His parents also preceded him in death.

Visitation was Monday at Peabody United Methodist Church in Peabody. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Peabody United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Ragland officiating. Interment will be at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. Memorials may be made to Hospice care of Kansas or Peabody United Methodist Church.
