Daughter of Barney and Mary Jane (McWilliams) Houser. At the age of two years she, with her parents, came to Kansas and they settled in Chase county and made their home there until marriage at Eureka, Kansas, on October 17, 1892, to Leonidas Hamlin Fent. They made their home in Eureka for many years and while living there three children were born; Leona, Ruth and Hazel. Mr. Fent passed away on May 25, 1926, and she then lived with her daughters family in Newton till her death.
