Shannon William Hink

Shannon William Hink, 38, of Moundridge, went to his heavenly home at 2:09 a.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2010) at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.

Shannon was born on May 26, 1972, in Watertown, S.D., to William Hink and Katherine Hiebert Hink. He was a graduate of Goessel High School and an employee of Femco Inc., in McPherson. Shannon was married on June 4, 2007, to Crystal Diann (Foth) Hink in Miami, Okla.

Shannon was an outdoorsman. He loved fishing, camping, metal detecting and bottle hunting, as well as jumping on the trampoline, practicing with the kids for their sporting events and going on bike rides with his family. For the last five years, Shannon lived with his wife and two stepchildren, Zaelynn LeighAnn Foth and Nikolas Soriao Torrente, in their home in Moundridge.

Shannon always was known as dad or Shaw, a nickname given by his children. Shannon’s family was everything to him. Shannon never knew a stranger. He was a friend to everyone and loved by all. He will truly be missed by all the lives he touched. "Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries, it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger then death."

Shannon is survived by his wife, Chrystal Hink; two children, Zaelynn Foth, 11, and Nikolas Torrente, 6; mother, Kate and stepfather, Calvin Hiebert; sisters, Robyn and Tony Hawpe of Newton, and Debbie and Will McCauley of Tulsa, Okla.; a stepbrother, Jessey and Tera Hiebert; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hink; and grandparents, Floyd and Edith Hink and Earl and Arlene Hatfield.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Evangelical Free Church in Moundridge. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge. Memorials may be made to the Shannon Hink Memorial Fund. Arrangements are with Jost Funeral Home of Hillsboro.
