Foster, Samuel

History

When he was two years old he moved with his parents to Illinois, remaining in that state until coming to Kansas in 1883. He married Anna Gooding in 1869, three sons one died in infancy, Floyd and Everett. After coming to Kansas they lived in Butler county for eight years, and then came to Newton.

He had learned the carpenter trade and worked at that until he accepted a position as janitor at the Cooper School and had worked there three years when he died at home.
