Obituary

Kenneth E. Baum, 62, died Monday (Sept. 27, 2010) at his Hutchinson residence.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1947, in Halstead to Lester George and Margaret Louise (Luginbill) Baum. Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles Club. He enjoyed reading Western novels, hunting and playing dominos. Kenneth had many careers during his working years, including custom cutting and railroad work.

He is survived by his sister, Ruth Anne Baum of Newton; daughter, Amy Etheridge; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Georgia Kay Winter.

Graveside inurnment with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Halstead City Cemetery in Halstead.
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.
