Virgil Hiebert, 74, died Wednesday (Oct. 13, 2010) at his home in Walton. He was born on Aug. 4, 1935, in Goessel to Rudolph and Eva Fleming Hiebert. He had worked for Agco in Hesston for 30 years. He a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, the Walton Lion’s Club and the Machinists Union. He married Joyce Schmidt on May 6, 1966. She died on July 20, 2001. He is survived by a son, Jeff (Nancy) of Newton; a daughter, Julane (Steve) Michels of Topeka; one granddaughter; one step-grandson; and three brothers, Victor of Whitewater, Junior of Walton and Ron of Peabody. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard. The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Ott Funeral Home in Goessel. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel. Burial will follow in Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery in Lehigh. Memorials may be sent to the Walton Lion’s Club in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 303 E. Main St., Goessel, KS 67053.
