Accident
Mrs. Sherman Trowbridge met with a serious accident while driving to town Monday morning. She was driving along the road just west of Will Utz’s place at the Little River Bridge when Dr. Kanavel passed the rig in his automobile. The wheels of the car kicked up considerable dust and this evidently frightened the horse and it jumped over into the ditch, upsetting the buggy and throwing Mrs. Trowbridge and her son onto the ground. The fall in some way fractured one of the bones in her right leg near the ankle. The boy got off with slight bruises and scratches. The horse smashed the buggy shaft but did not run away. Dr. Kanavel took the injured ones in his car and rendered every attention, and Will Utz looked after the horse and buggy. The horse is ordinarily gently, and the Doctor handled his car with his usual caution. The roads where the accident happened had been worked recently and the ditch was quite deep where the horse plunged when frightened. Mrs. Trowbridge is getting along as nicely as could be expected.
