Bernal Lee "Bernie" Lagree, 66, retired shift foreman for KPL and a custom trim maker for Lang Hardwood Supply, died Sunday (Aug. 1, 2004) at Via Christi-St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita. He was born Feb. 3, 1938, to Max O. and Reva Alive (Stalcup) Lagree in Hutchinson. He married Virginia Lee McClellan March 27, 1960, in Cuningham. She survives of the home. He was a member of Burrton Christian Church in Burrton. Other survivors include: a son, Monte Lagree of Burrton; four daughters, Tammy Benewiat of Halstead, Sherry McCurry of Burrton, Chris Hale of Buhler and Amy Scott of Arkansas City; his mother, Reva Lagree of Hutchinson; three sisters, Audrey Adelhardt of Pratt, Maxine McMillan of Stafford and Nancy Banz of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead with Pastor Sheree Boman officiating. Burial will be in Burrton Cemetery in Burrton. Memorials have been established with the Burrton Ambulance Department in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, 418 Chestnut Street, Halstead, KS 67056.
