Jay Carrol Smith, Jr

Jay C. Smith Jr., 42, died Thursday (Jan. 29, 2004) at his residence. He was born Sept. 5, 1961, to Jay C. Sr. and Alice (Webster) Ramona Smith in Wichita. His father preceded him in death. His mother survives of Wichita. He married Tammy Terbovich June 15, 1984, in Newton. She survives of the home. He worked for Lea J. Allen trucking company as a warehouse man. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and especially enjoyed playing with his grandson, Conner. Other survivors include: a son, Jeffery Smith of Newton; a brother, Raymond Smith of Wichita; a sister, Cheryl Saenz of Halstead; and a grandchild. Funeral service was held earlier today at Petersen Funeral Home. Chaplain Cindy Mahnke of Presbyterian Manor officiated. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery. Memorials have been established with the Conner Williams Fund in care of the funeral home.
