Busenitz, Jonathan



Jonathan J. Busenitz, 38, farmer and stockman, died Saturday (Jan. 26, 2002) at his home in Whitewater.

He was born Nov. 9, 1963, to Walter and Susie (Ortman) Busenitz in Newton. His mother preceded him in death. His father survives of Whitewater. He married Rachel Horner Aug. 17, 1985, in Rose, Neb. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Grace Bible Church of Whitewater. He attended Whitewater Grade School and graduated from Berean Academy in Elbing. He attended two years at Grace University in Omaha, Neb.

Other survivors include: five sons, Michael Busenitz, Phillip Busenitz, Brandon Busenitz, Lyndon Busenitz and Joseph Busenitz, all of the home; two daughters, Bethany Busenitz and Jessica Busenitz, both of the home; six brothers, Robert L. Busenitz of the Phillipines, Stephen Busenitz of Whitewater, Mark Busenitz of Hulett, Wyo., Rueben Busenitz of Busby, Mont., Ethan Busenitz of Whitewater and Earl Busenitz of Hulett, Wyo.; and five sisters, Fern Rudolph of Chicago, Elizabeth Pearce of Whitewater, Waunita Funk of Newton, Lillian Jerred of Lincoln, Neb., and Pearl Nanninga of Lima, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bob Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater with family greeting friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater with Pastors Jon Prigge and Rodney Crowell officiating. Burial will be in Whitewater Cemetery. Memorials have been established with Wycliff Bible Translators and Life Line Orphanage in Haiti.
