Christine Lynn Chapman, 39, of Bella Vista, died July 15, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark., after a short illness.
She was born on July 5, 1969, in Newton to Harvey D. and Sallie M. Stucky. She attended and graduated from Bentonville High School, where she was a cheerleader and gymnast. She attended and graduated from the University of Arkansas, where she was a Razorback cheerleader. She also was a cheerleading instructor for the UCA. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority and was on the dean's and chancellor's lists while in college. She worked as an interpreter for the deaf in Little Rock, Ark., and Springdale. She was also trained as a Montessori teacher and worked in Memphis and Denver at this occupation. She continued her education in the information technology industry and worked in this industry until the last two years of her life.
The last two years of her life was spent helping her mother care for her father and preparing her daughter for kindergarten. She had planned to return to working in the IT industry in the fall. She was an avid athlete, enjoying tennis, swimming, hiking and canoeing. She played in several area tennis tournaments throughout her life. She loved gardening, music, cooking and her family and friends. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Sallie Quinn, 5, and her husband, Gregory Paul, of Bella Vista; her mother, Sallie M. Stucky of Bella Vista; two brothers, Bill Charlsen and wife, Charla, of Newton, and Tim Charlsen and wife, Robin, of Littleton, Colo.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey D. Stucky of Bella Vista.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church, 1001 Kingsland Road, Bella Vista, AR, 72714, with the Rev. Ken Parks and Pastor Dallas LaCaze officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. All arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Services in Rogers, Ark.
