Frank Calvin Trouslot Sr., 77, retired clothing salesman and a Newton resident most of his life, died late Friday afternoon at his home, 112 W 7th.

A native Kansan, Mr. Trouslot was born July 4, 1879 in Topeka, the son of Jules and Lettie Trouslot, and came to Newton with his parents when he was three months old.

Prior to his retirement about 10 years ago, he was employed for many years as a salesman with Reed’s Clothing. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. Trouslot was married here June 4, 1902 to the former Laura Etta Cavenay, who survives.

He was a 50-year member of Newton Lodge 142, A.F. and A.M. and also of a member of Arkansas Valley chapter 127, R.A.M.

Survivors include his widow; one son, Frank C., Jr., and his wife, Imogene, and a grandson, Paul Jean Trouslot, all of Newton.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m., at Moody’s Funeral Chapel. The Rev. D. Coyd Taggart will officiate, with members of Newton A.F. and A.M. Lodge assisting. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Trouslot’s body will lie in state at the funeral chapel Sunday afternoon and evening.
