Young Man of Sterling Worth Has Answered Summons

Death came to release the spirit of Fred Hunter early this morning at his home with his mother, Mrs. Hector Hunter, after an extended illness of valvular heart trouble. The funeral service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church in Newton on Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Dr. Campbell, president of Cooper College at Sterling, officiating.

Fred, the youngest of a family of five brothers, is the first to be taken. He was born September 27, 1875, in the same house where he passed away. His home has been long known as Sunnyside farm, and the name was descriptive of the atmosphere of cheer and good fellowship which always surrounded it. He received his education at Sunyside school, and in the Newton schools, going later to Cooper College, Sterling, where he received his degree.

Since the death of his father in 1906 he has been his mother's companion at their farm home, the other brothers, John A., W. E., Stewart, and Clinton L, all living in and around Newton, near at hand when occasion should demand.

The family has lived in Harvey county 46 years, and hosts of friends join them in their sorrow for their loved one.

Friends of Fred may see him at the home of his brother, John A. Hunter, 118 South Main Street, after 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
