December 15, 1911. The funeral of C. J. Davis was held at the Baptist church at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. J. J. Groffin conducted the services. Mrs. W. R. Benn and Mrs. Kosa sang very sympathetically several hymns, with Mrs. Blatchley as accompanist. The Judson Kilpatrick post took part in the services and at the grave the Masonic lodge No. 142 A. F. and A. M. gave its impressive service. The pall bearers were chosen from the Workmen and Masonic lodges and the Post.
