Parents Robert and Elizabeth Calvert. Her early life was spent in her her parents home in Scotland. She came to America in 1882 with her sister Mrs. John Gibbs and Mrs. Gibbs four children. Her sister died of scarlet fever after only two weeks in America and her daughter Lizzie Gibb has made her home with Elizabeth ever since that time.

On August 30, 1885, she married George Fiddis at Strong City, Ks. They came to Newton immediately and have lived here ever since. Three children were born, one daughter passing away in infancy. One son William R. and a daughter Ruby.
