George L. Spangler
PEABODY -- George L. Spangler, 87, of Peabody, died Tuesday (Dec. 14, 1999) at his residence in Peabody.
He was born May 12, 1912, in rural Elbing to Louie and Lillian (Williams) Spangler. He married Louise Roe in Newton. She preceded him in death in 1971.
He was a member of Old Mission Church in Elbing. He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Spangler of Newton; and two sisters, Lucy Shepler of Peabody and Alta Kafton of Andover.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Spangler and Merle Spangler; and one sister, Hazel Ford.
Graveside services and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fairmont Cemetery in rural Elbing with the Rev. David Randall from United Methodist Church in Peabody officiating.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Memorials have been established with Peabody Senior Center in care of the funeral home.
