WALTON — Virginia R. (Bahr) McClure, 87, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2007) at Memorial Home in Moundridge.
Survivors include families of Don Bahr, Claudette Esau, Dean Ann Shelton, Mardell White and Dean Davis and the brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews of the McClure family.
She was born July 24, 1920, in Halstead to Lucas and Stella Bahr. Virginia graduated from Walton High School in 1938. She married Clayton McClure on June 12, 1940. They lived in the Whitewater area most of their married life. Virginia was a member of the Walton United Methodist Church. She served as organist, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and was president of the United Methodist Women’s group. She taught piano lessons to many students during the years. She and her husband were 4-H leaders for more than 60 years for the Richland Livewires 4-H Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; her parents; her brothers, Virgil and Dean; and her sister, Marjorie Davis.
Viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walton United Methodist Church with Pastor Judith May presiding.
Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the Walton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
