Koeneman, Earl



Earl H. Koeneman, 84, died today (March 15, 1999) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.

He was born March 9, 1915, in Newton to William A. and Metha (Hoerman) Koeneman. He married Dorothy C. Botterweck Aug. 1, 1935, in Newton. She survives of Newton.

He farmed for 18 years in the Towanda and Benton community, returning to the Newton area in 1958, where he resided until his death. He was employed for Boeing Airplane Plant in Wichita for 15 years and for Hesston Corporation for nine years, where he retired in 1977.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Wichita.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Sylvia L. Barb of Emporia, Priscilla I. Musser of Newton and Dorothy Joyce Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn S. Nickel; one brother, Elmer Koeneman; two sisters, Irene Lily and Cora Ann McJilton; and one grandson, Corey Nickel.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cliff Winter of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Wichita officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established with Central Homecare and Hospice Inc., and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
