Hunter, Ida

The Newton Kansan

Mrs. Ida May Hunter, 84, pioneer Newton Resident, died Wednesday night at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. She had been hospitalized since Sept. 28.

Mrs. Hunter was born May 22, 1872 at Sedgwick, the daughter of Charles A. and Caroline Cook, and had lived in Newton since 1897. Her home was at 125 W. 11 th.

She was the widow of Stuart A. Hunter, real estate dealer, who died Jan. 27, 1948. They were married in Newton Nov. 26, 1890.

Mrs. Hunter was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and the Eposcopal Guild.

Survivors include two sons, Floyd S. and Charles H., both of Newton; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Moody's Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John B. Covey will officiate and burial will be Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hunter's body will lie in state at the funeral chapel Friday afternoon and evening and on Saturday until the hour of the services.
