Mrs. Alta Underwood, 62, former Newton resident, died Monday in Hutchinson.

She was born here Sept. 27, 1892 and recently had been living in Hutchinson with two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Strader of Lyons; two sisters, Mrs. William Jackson and Mrs. Daisy Phoenix of Hutchinson, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted her Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. with Dr. J. W. hays and the Rev. L. E. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Moody's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
