At the age of nine Arthur moved with his parents Justus and Sybil Walker from Ohio and settled west of Newton. He was married to Daisy Commons, May 5, 1889. They had six children, five boys and one girl, the first child died in infancy, Roy the second child passed away at the age of two years. Mable the only girl passed away at eleven years.
