Retired lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy, Ivan R. Williams, 72, of Halstead, died Wednesday June 27, 1984 at St. Mary's Kansas Nursing Home

Services will be Satrday at Kaufman Chapel in Halstead. The Rev. Charles Curtis will officiate. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.

He was born March 10,1912 in Halstead. He married Theda Joyce Fancher May 26, 1947 in Seattle. She preceded him in death Oct 14, 1954. He married Helen Miller Feb. 23, 1956 in Joplin, Mo. She preceded him in death April 20, 1974.

He was a resident of Halstead for most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion and Masonic Lodge in Halstead as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Newton. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran.

Survivors: son, Nathan of Salina; daughter Pamela Eshom of St. Mary's; one stepson, Jackie Miller of Burns; one brother, Donald of Garden City; one sister, Vera Hege of Sedgwick; one grandchild. One daughter, Patricia Gail preceded him in death.

Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. Memorials to the Harvey County Cancer Fund.
