Alexander Norris

Alexander (Alex) Norris, 85, pioneer Newton resident, died early today at his home, 630 Hillside Lane.

He was a retired dry goods traveling salesman.

Mr. Norris was born April 10, 1883 in Rockaway, New Jersey, and had resided here for 78 years. His parents were David and Lottie Norris.

He was a member of 1st Christian Church and had been a member of the Newton Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Masons and Commandery of Knights Templar for more than 50 years.

Survivors include his widow,Emma, one son, John A. of West Acton, Mass; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a. m. Thursday at Draper's Funeral home. The Rev. Doran Myers will officiate and entombment will be in Greenwood Abbey.
