Althea Mae (Grubbs) Baughman

Aletha M. Baughman-Newberry-Abston, 91,died June 24, 1998 at the Buhler Sunshine Home. She was born March 14, 1907 at Sylvia, daughter of Herbert M. and Anna M. Philbrick Grubbs. She was a 1925 graduate of Burrton High School, a lifetime resident of Burrton and a homemaker.

She belonged to Pleasant Grove Methodist Church of Burrton and had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Newton Chapter #5 since 1925.

She married Lloyd I. Baughman at Burrton on May 2, 1928. He died Nov. 29. 1962. On August 12, 1965 she married Charles A. Newberry. He died May 26, 1975. On December 12, 1977 she married Orville Abston. He died Oct 28, 1980.

Survivors: daughter, Eileen F. Hoover, Albuquerque, N. M., seven gramdchihldren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne and Larry Baughman; and two daughters, Wanda and Lou Beth Baaughman.

Graveside services were held at Burrton cemetery.
