Laura M (Dawson) Rapp

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Hesston Evangelical Church for Mrs. Laura Rapp, who passed away Sunday morning at Beeville, Texas, where the family has made their home since leaving Hesston in 1920. Rev. Sorg, assisted by Rev. Shike and Rev. F. U. Moyer had charge of the services.
Mrs. Rapp (nee Laura Dawson) was born in Illinois January 9, 1872, and came to the Hesston community in the early '90's with her father's family and in time she became the wife of William Rapp a highly respected citizen of Hesston and vicinity. A son and two daughters were born to the union, the parents having the great sorrow of losing by death the little boy who was the first one to be interred in what is now the Hesston Cemetery. In 1920 the family moved to Beeville, Texas, and three years later the father was brought back for burial.
Mrs. Rapp is survived by their two daughters who accompanied the body to Newton for the funeral and interment in the Hesston Cemetery under the supervision of I. W. Draper of the Draper Funeral Home.
