Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie Loy Hege were conducted from the Kaufman Funeral Chapel on Friday morning, September 5, 1952 with Rev. Richard S. Klein officiating.

Mrs. Hege passed away in Los Angeles on August 28, 1952 and her two daughters, Mrs. Montrose T. Burrtows and Mrs. Charles G. Sword accompanied here body back to Halstead for funeral services and burial.

She was born on December 23, 1863 at Fulton, Iowa and was the only child of John and Flora Rosecrans Loy. On October 26, 1887 she was married to Gustavus A. Hege of Halstead where they continued to live for nineteen years. Mr. Hege was one of the early Mayors of Halstead and was in Dry Goods Business and connected with the Ruth Feeder company while in Halstead. In 1906 the Hege family moved to Emporia and in 1920, they moved to Eagle Rock, California which continued to be her home until her death. They were active members of the Presbyterian church and took part in all Civic affairs.

Mr. Hege,, her husband, passed away February of 1929 and their only son, Loy A. Hege was killed in the First World War; losing his live while in action in France in 1918. Surviving Mrs. Hege are her two daughters, Mrs. Burrows of Los Angeles and Mrs. Sword of Whittier, California; nine grandchildren and eight great grand children.
