Charles Hiram Cadwell

Charles Hiram Cadwell passed away at the Halstead Hospital on January 11, 1942 after being seriously ill for about a week. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Cadwell came to Halstead with his family when he was but seven years old, in 1874, from Burlington, Iowa. His parents homesteaded the farm southwest of Halstad and for 67 years that place was his home until he and Mrs. Cadwell moved to Halstead about a year ago. Had he lived until next May, he would have been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.

He married Austa Williamson on February 1, 1880. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Estella Cain of Long Beach, Califormia and Mrs. Agnes Heminger of Great Bend; two brothers, four sisters and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
