Bixler, Edna

Harvey County Independent

Edna O. "Granny B" Bixler, 100 of Wichita, formerly of Sedgwick, died Thursday October 17, 2002 at Catholic Care Center, Wichita. She was born October 27, 1901 at Halls Summit, the daughter of Harry Morgan and Melvina Ellen Kellum Henery.

She was a homemaker and a resident of Sedgwick until 1999 when she moved to Wichita. She was a member of Sedgwick Christian Church and the Stitch and Chatter Club, both of Sedgwick.

She married Grover Bixler at Dodge City in 1928. He preceded her in death on June 17, 1962. Survivors: six grandchildren, Philip and Sharon May, Primary caregivers, Park City; William Paronto, LaPalma, California; Bonnie Chronister, Halstead; Charlyene Truax, Humble, Texas; Stephanie Rogers, Denton, Texas and Lynette Bridges, Nevada, Missouri; 11 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Bixler and Donald Bixler; two daughters, Juanita Herring and Myrtle May; a brother, Harold Henery; two sisters, Wanda Spinner and Ruth Nicholson and a grqndson, Robert May.

Services were held at Kaufman Funeral Home with burial in Halstead Cemetery.
