Mrs. Fred Brandenberger, 35, died early Monday morniing at the Halstead hospital of injuries received Sunday night when the Brandenberger car ran into a culvert after its light went out, the impact hurling her against the dashboard.
.
The accident occured about half mile east of the Centennial church, south and west of Halstead on Harvey county Highway 584. Mr. Brandenberger, who was driving, suffered a fractured jaw, cut lip, let injury and the loss of several teeth. The three children, Juanita, 8, Doris, 7, and Loel, 3, were in the back seat of the car.

After the accident, which occured shortly before 10 o'clock, Mr. Brandenberger and the three children walked to the Roderick Moore home, 1 3/4 miles away, for help. Mr. Moore drove to the scene, picked up the injured woman and brought her to the Halstead Hospital. Death occurred about 2 o'clock Monday morning.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Halstead Presbyterian church with Rev. Bernard Clouse of the Bentley and Centennial churches, in charge.

Mrs. Brandenberger completed the course in nurses' training at the Halstead Hospital in 1927. Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. B. Keady, who reside a half mile south of the Brandenberger home; two sisters, Mrs. James Chaffee of Newton and Mrs. Harold Hughes, Route 5, Newton and two brothers, George Keady of Wichita and Lloyd Keady of Larned.

Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
