Emmet N McCusker

Dr. Emmett N. McCusker, who has been associated with the Hertzler Clinic and Halstead Hospital for the past 12 years, died suddenly Sunday at his home. He was born December 19, 1916 to Phyllis Sweetland on February 25, 1942 at Grand Forks, North Dakota.

He received his B.S. degree from the University of North Dakota and his doctorate from New York Medical College. He came to Halstead 12 years ago from Santa Maria, California. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Newton Elks Lodge.

Professionslly he was a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology; was a member of the American College of Radiology; the Society of Nuclear Medicine; the American Medical Association, the Kansas State Medical Association, the Santa Barbara County, California Medical Society and the Harvey County Medical Society.

Survivors: the widow; four sons, Michael of Houston, Texas; Brian of Eugene, Oregon and Kevin and Patrick of the home; three daughters, Phyllis of Boston, Massachusetts; Mary of St. Louis, Missouri and Kris of the home; two brothers, Wilfred of Pennyan, New York and James of Arlington, Virginia.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the church with Rev. Joseph Fischer officiating. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery with the Kaufman Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
