Obituary

Mildred Isabelle Thompson died Friday morning January 20 at the Halstead Hospital after a long illness. She was born August 2, 1913 at Red Cloud, Nebraska and came to Halstead in 1936 from California. She was married to Howard Thompson August 11, 1937 at McPherson.

For 37 years she was an elementary school teacher in many schools in the Halstead area. For the five years prior to her illness, she had taught in Newton. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society and the Association of Childhood Education Inc.

Surving are the husband, Howard of the home; two sons, Charles of Middletown, Connecicut and John of the home; One sister, Mrs. Vera Davis of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Private funeral services were conducted by the sisters of her sority. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
