ARKANSAS CITY - Hazel Zinn Altum, 75, of Arkansas City, died.
She was born July 24, 1929, in McCune, to Ray and Mary Garretson Madison. She attended Cherokee schools.

She married Russell Altum on March 24, 1972. He preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1982.
She was a certified nurses' aide and worked in several nursing homes in Newton. In 1990, she moved to Arkansas City to be near her son. She was employed at Presbyterian Manor in Newton and Arkansas City for 15 years. She retired in 1998.
She was a member of Scott City United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Alldredge of Blountsville, Ala., and Carolyn Williams of Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Ron of Arkansas City; two sisters, Betty Serra of Frontenac and Virginia Potscnik of Cherokee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her second husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Earnest Zinn; two sons, Michael Zinn and Steven Zinn; one brother; and one sister.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in rural Newton with the Rev. Phil Fisher officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. Arrangements are under the direction of Petersen Family Funeral Home of Newton.
