Edgar C. "Tex" Foster, 77, 216 East 3rd, died Thursday evening, February 13, 1975 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. He was born March 8, 1897 in Collinsville County, Texas, son of John William and Annie Munger Foster. He married Bernice Brown on January 21, 1920 at Oklahoma City. They moved to Newton in 1922. She survives of the home.

Mr. Foster was a retired car inspector for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the First Christian Chrch, the AF of L and the VFW Unit.

Survivors: the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Graham (Wanda Jean) Justice, Topeka and Mrs. Arnold (Lorene) Stahlheber, Newton; two half brothers, John Foster, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Medford Foster, Bromide, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at Draper-Cannon Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
