John Kirkpatrick, 72, 715 High, died this morning at Axtell Christian Hospital. He was born June 18, 1902 in Newton, son of John and Frances Burwell Kirkpatrick and had been a lifetime resident of the Newton area. He was a retired farmer and plumber for Kirkpatrick Plumbing. He was a 50 year memeber of the Modern Woodmen of the World.

He married Ruby E. Weigand November 10,1924 at Halstead. She survives of the home. Other survivors: three sons, John, Burrton; Ronald, Florence; and Gary, Newton; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Sidener, Burns; one brother, Ross E. Kirkpaatrick, Newton; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday in Draper-Cannon Chapel with Rev. Jon Jones of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Kidney Foundation.
