Fern Beatrice (Edgington) Henry

Fern B. Henry, 102, died Friday April 22, 2011 at Asbury Park Greenhouses in Newton. She was born August 9, 1908 in Sedgwick to Cary and Anna May (Crawford) Edgington. She graduated from Sedgwick High School in 1927. On Septenmber 2, 1931 whe married Paul Randolph Henry in Stafford, Kansas. He preceded her in death on Novenmber 22, 1993.

She was a member of Sedgwick United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and farmer's wife. She and her husband farmed northeast of Sedgwick for many years. She enjoyed gardening, canning and crocheting. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She looked forward to celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and holidays with her family and friends. Fern and Randolph were honored in 1986 as Heritage Citizens of Sedgwick.

She is survived by her daughter, Lois Kurr of Sedgwick and son, Paul and his wife, Shirley Henry of Moorhead, Minnesota; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Lee, Glenn and Francis Edgington; son-in-law, Wilbur Kurr; and gret granddaughter, Katie Osborn.
