Larry Jay Walters

Larry J. Walters, 27, Halsted, died November 20, 1986 at Halstead Hospital as the result of injuries received in an automobile accident that day. He was born October 18, 1959 at Jefferson City, Missouri. He married Karen Simoneau June 7, 1986 at Halstead. He was a U.S. Postal Service carrier and a Wendling Farm employee and had been a resident of Halstead for 20 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead and the American Postal Workers Association.

Survivors: his wife of the home; parents, Frank and Betty Smeek Walters, Topeka; sisters, Shelia Sowell and Brenda Walters, both of Halstead; and a grandmother, Mrs. John Stahl, Barnhardt, Missouri.

The rosary was Sunday evening, November 23 at Kaufman Chapel, Halstead. Funeral services were held Monday Morning at the church with Father James Eatough. Burial was in the Halstead Cenetery.
