Irene Lucille Hall, 73, lifelong resident of Halstead, died Friday, June 28, 2002 at Halstead Place Assisted Living Center after a lengthy battle with Kidney cancerr. She was born on a farm west of Halstead, the daughter of Margaret Redinger and Andren Steffen, a French-German immigrant. Mrs. Hall, a 1947 graduate of Halsteaad High School, considered her greatest joy the success and accomplishments of her family and her 54 year marriage to her husband, Lloyd L. Hall, whom she married November 18, 1947 in Larned, Kansas.

Mr. & Mrs. Hall returned to Halstead in 1952 to assume the operation of the town's dry-cleaning establishment. The Fashion Cleaners, which they owned and operated until 1997. Mrs. Hall was also an employee of the Hertzler Clinic from 1973 until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.

In addition to their son, Mr. & Mrs. Hall provided a home for Mr. Hall's two orphaned sisters, Jacqueline Hall Foster and Linda Hall Darnell, after the death of their mother in 1952.

Survivorsinclude her husband, Lloyd Hall, Halstead; their son and daughter-in-law, Gregory H. and Nancy I Hall, St. Helena Island, South Carolina and two grandchildren, Amy M. Hall and Dana C. Hall, both attending Mississippi State University.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, James Douglas Hall in 1957.

Graveside service was Tuesday, July 2 at the Halstead Cemetery.
