Joan (Huebert) Wilder

Joan Huebert Wilder, 79, retired teacher for Valley Center Public Schools, died Thursday May 22, 2008 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation. She was born May 11, 1929 at Halstead to Ernest and Helen Hertzler Huebert. She married Robert D. Wilder at Los Angeles on July 28, 1951. He died April 4, 1969.

A Halstead resident since 1969, she was a member of First United Church of Christ, Newton; Democratic Women; and American Association of University Women.

Survivors: son, James Wilder, Lawrence; daughters, Ann Motter, Halstead; Claire Wilder, Kansas City; and Mary Wiley, Hawkins, Minnesota; three grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wilder; brother, Robert Huebert and sister, Helen "Skeet" Huebert.

Cremation has baken place. Memorial service was Tuesday, May 27 at Kaufman Funeral home with Rev. Bill Hickerson officiating. Inurnment at Halstead Cemetery.
