Obituary

Neva Keller, 99, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Halstead Place Assisted Living Center in Halstead. She was born on July 28, 1909 in Halstead to John Michael and Malvina Allen Lehman.

She was a 1936 graduate of Halstead High School. She received her teaching certificate from Emporia State Teachers College and taught school for five years at Haven, Hartford and Macksville. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women and G.M.H. Club, all of Halstead.

She married Arthur Benton Charles Keller in Anthony. He died on December 14, 1998. Survivors: son, Robert (Charlotte) Keller of Halstead; daughters, Katherine Ewy of Halstead and Carol (Vernon) nightingale of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Arthur Keller; grandson, Donald Nightingale; sister, Florence Mirick; and a son-in-law, Forrest Ewy.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at Kaufman Funeral Home with the Rev. Irving Simon presiding. Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery in Halstead.
