Obituary

John E. Ropp, 73, former Halstead area resident, died Tuesday, August 25, 1992 at Friendly Acres Retirement Community, Newton, where he was a resident. He was born July 19, 1919 at Halstead, the son of Elmer and Katherine Safe Ropp. he married Maxine Hall in October of 1970 at Emporia. He was a retired farmer and a lifelong Halstead area resident. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead.

Survivors: wife, Maxine; four sons, Jack Ropp,
Salina; Dan Ropp, Buhler; Perry Ropp, San Jose, California; and Ken Ropp, Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Peggy Schrag, Hutchinson and Patty Makiyama, Beverton, Oregon; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Services are pending with Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
